Angelina Jolie plans to marry Brad Pitt 'sooner rather than later' following her gruelling double mastectomy.

Angelina, 37, today praised her fiance for being 'loving and supportive', and a source told MailOnline: 'Angie is keen on a wedding and the kids are clamouring for a marriage and keep asking Brad and Angie when it's happening.

'Brad has been caught up in production turmoil with his new film World War Z, so there's been no wedding planning as a result, but Angie has said it will happen sooner rather than later.

to marry, to not marry: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been subject to fevered speculation over an impending marriage since Pitt said 'the time is nigh'
Wedding bells? Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been subject to fevered speculation over an impending marriage since Pitt said 'the time is nigh'

'They are all for all intents and purposes married, but it's become clear that it's important to them to make it official.'
The A-list couple got engaged in 2011 when Brad proposed with a $500,000 diamond ring and in November, the actor said they would be walking down the aisle 'soon'.

Speaking at the Cinema Society screening of his film Killing Them Softly, in New York, Brad, 48, admitted: 'I am getting more pressure from my kids, and it is something I want to do within their lifetime, but I also feel like the time has come.
'The time is nigh. It's soon. I got a good feeling about it.'
While he stopped short of confirming a wedding date, Brad, did reveal what the couple have in mind for their big day, adding: 'Just family. Keep it simple. Keep it simple – really.'

Hurry up mom! A source told MailOnline that the mother-of-six's excited children keep asking their parents when they are going to tie the knot.

However, in March, Oscar winner Angelina put speculation they had already tied the knot to rest when she turned up in Africa wearing a gold band on her wedding finger, but when asked whether it was a wedding ring, replied: 'No, it's not.'

While sources say Angelina would still like to get married in France, the pair do not want to wed at their own estate Chateau Mirval and instead want to find a fresh location that 'addresses their security concerns and desire to keep it private.'
However, UN ambassador Angelina 'goes through phases' where she says she would like to get married in one of the countries she's got to know through her aid work.

'Getting married in Bosnia, Haiti or Cambodia would give something back to the global community. That may sound pretentious to many but Angelina sincerely believes in the need to pursue that aim. It drives her charity work and she'd like to incorporate this sentiment into her personal life,' said the source.

The mother-of-six turned down a string of film roles - including the sequel to her hit movie Salt - to undergo three months of invasive treatment after learning she had an 87 per cent chance of developing breast cancer.

Today it was revealed that Angelina kept her decision to have a double mastectomy after being diagnosed positive for the BRCA1 gene.
A friend said: 'Brad and Angelina only told close family - among them her father Jon Voight who she's been estranged from so often but who has been immensely helpful in the last month.'
Angelina has also turned down a whole range of films, among them Salt 2, the sequel to her hit 2010 spy movie, as well as Survivor, a film about a woman caught up in a terrorist plot in London.
She also turned down the chance to play the iconic DC Comics character Hawkgirl.
