Your Authority

James 4:7

At times, we are troubled with burdens and unresolved problems. Anxiety sets in.How do we set aside anxieties to get the rest we need to face another day? How do we cope with our problems so they don't overwhelm us? God provides a way with the spiritual authority He has given us.

Be with me. Suppose you come upon a robbery in progress. You tell the lone burglar to stop, but he laughs, saying, "Hey! You can't stop me. You have no authority." You leave and return with a policeman who brandishes a gun and shouts, "Stop!" The burglar, knowing he is overpowered, submits to legal authority and surrenders.

The lesson is the same in the spiritual or natural realm: what you cannot manage in your own strength, you can accomplish when you operate with proper authority. But know this; Satan will continue his onslaught as long as you don't use your spiritual weapons against him. When you rebuke him in the Name of Jesus, with the direction and power of the Holy Spirit as your support, Satan has to flee. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Stand fast against your enemy who would steal your peace of mind. Resist Satan in every troubled area; call upon the Name of the Lord as your supreme authority, and claim your victory in Him.

Grace is the heavenly resource behind all of God's promises.
Faith is the simple means of accessing that grace
