Backsliding

Backsliding

We are believers and followers of our Lord Jesus Christ. But sometimes we stumble and fall. One tactic the enemy uses universally is to try to convince saints who have stumbled that they have backslidden beyond hope.
Unfortunately, this tactic often works. There are many who think that God would never take them back! They say, "After what I've done, it's all over for me. I've got no future with God."
This simply is not true. If you are in this state, don't be deceived. God is in fact pleading with you to return to Him. He longs to give you rest from your wanderings. Hear His call:
Return, faithless people," declares the LORD, "for I am your husband. I will choose you--one from a town and two from a clan--and bring you to Zion.(Jeremiah 3:14 NIV)
I will heal their waywardness and love them freely, for my anger has turned away from them. (Hosea 14:4 NIV)
If you recognize your backsliding, repent of it, and return to God. God is holding His hand out to you! If this describes you, turn back to the Lord and grasp His forgiving hand and be led into His everlasting embrace. Then Join Micah in saying:
Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy. You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea. You will be true to Jacob, and show mercy to Abraham, as you pledged on oath to our fathers in days long ago. (Micah 7:18-20 NIV)

Grace is the heavenly resource behind all of God's promises.
Faith is the simple means of accessing that grace
