Is It Really New?
We tend to say Happy New Year, every time the calendar changes to January 1st. But is the year really new? What makes a year new to you? Is it the additional numbers on the calendar, from 2023 to 2024? Is it the energy in the atmosphere? Is it you? Have you renewed your mind now that you've had a chance to live for 365 days on earth and have allowed yourself to learn, heal and do better, so that the next 366 days of 2024 will yield the results you've been wanting to see?
2020
Happy New Year
Hey y'all,
It's year 2020, officially! I am celebrating ending of a decade with growth, knowledge and wisdom. I may not have been as graceful for entering the 2000 - 2009 decade because I had little to no knowledge of how much life can take a toll on someone, and how much of God's grace and strength in us, it takes to make it to the next day, week, month, year! Now I know, and I am grateful.
To those I know and Love, and to those that I don't know and yet wish the best for, may your 2020 be exactly as God had ordained it to be, and nothing less.
Personally, I do not write new years resolutions. If anything, the year 2018 taught me to write down my hearts desires, goals, dreams, and aspirations and pray for them. And along the way, enjoy the little victories. As a matter of fact, growth and change comes from God's help, not from our own strength. However, we are not completely weak, our job is to keep telling ourselves we can and we will do what we wish to accomplish, and pray for God to give us the strength along the way.
Therefore, I wish you all a the very best of a new decade. Have all you have ever dreamed and prayed for, and more!
Cheers,
Mamatembo Safari.
Why do we make resolutions anyway?
If anything, 2018 taught me NOT to rely on my own understanding in any area of my life. I ended 2018 with a reality check, nothing that happened in 2018 was on my to-do list. So why make resolutions when life happens when I am busy making plans? Don't get me wrong, I don't plan on living my life aimlessly or not have goals at all. And it does not mean I should not do my best with what I have. I just want to be in a place where I can be okay with the curve balls that life throws my way, without losing my mind in the process. You just never know which life situation will bring down your spirit and this is what I need to learn to overcome. When your spirit is down, you could be surrounded by a gold mine, and yet not see the glitter or enjoy the wealth. I never want to be in that place ever again.
Happy New Year!!
Doing 2019 God's way!
