Is AI Here To Help?

I have a habit of rewatching old series and movies because I feel I might have missed something important when I first watched them years ago. Revisiting them now often provides a new perspective and a better understanding. For example, I loved the sci-fi series EUREKA when it aired in the late 2000s. I watched it again in the mid-2010s and recently in 2023. It's fascinating how technology that was purely fictional back then is now part of our everyday lives.

Similarly, DEMOLITION MAN was one of my favorite movies in the 90s. Rewatching it last year, I was struck by how much of the imagined technology has become reality. Technology has always been integral to our lives; it just wasn't as accessible as it is now. With AI becoming increasingly prevalent, I'm curious about how others are using it to their advantage.

I started using ChatGPT when it first became popular and found it quite useful. I'm almost fully dependent on Grammarly for my writing. Recently, I discovered Leonardo.AI and am hooked on the AI-generated images, which I find incredibly useful for my work. Did you know you can edit real photos using AI in software like Adobe Photoshop?

While AI can be incredibly helpful, I sometimes wonder if it's making us lazy. However, I believe that as long as I continue to read, learn, and engage in daily activities, my brain will stay active. AI does make mistakes that a human might not, but it's still in its early stages. Let's give it another ten years and see just how beneficial or detrimental it turns out to be.

What Makes A Year New

Dear friend,  this is a follow-up post from my previous one. If you didn't read it, please do so then come right back!

I did a research towards the end of January. I wanted to find out what makes a year new. I asked questions to my friends and family and these were their responses;

Nina swali. How's the year so far? Unauonaje mwaka as January inaenda kuisha?

Friend A
Si jana nilikwambia i want to reset
Whether tumalize mwaka au tuanze upya
Ila everything just doesn't seem to add up.

Friend B
So far. This year is blissful 😊
As we are ending this January, I saw a sign of greatness in the future days, new level of advancement spiritually, economically, and academically for me.

Friend C
🤣🤣🤣🤣
So far so good.
Been a good month of Planning January that is. Am very Optimistic about this Year.
It shall be the Year of *her name* and taking back her Power

Friend D
Its same here.. thou to me I have to make a very hard decision which determines how my future will be.
So mwaka huu gonna be exciting but hard

Friend E
The year is amazing.
One thing I have come to learn is you experience everything as you are internally. So I have worked hard and still do on my self so that my experience is seldom influenced from the outside.

Friend F
In general? It's going well. I'm getting stronger, and hence, things aren't bothering me as much. There are things I've accepted, and there are things I'm changing. Overall, I feel stronger as I continue to pray and make time to seek the Lord.

Friend G
Huu mwaka ni wa kuwork hard tuu I think kila kitu kinazidi kupanda bei. Life inakuwa expensive extra money is needed, (from other sources).

At the end of the day, 1st day of January doesn't change anything. What makes a day, week, month or year new, is you, your mindset, your outlook at life.

Is It Really New?

We tend to say Happy New Year, every time the calendar changes to January 1st. But is the year really new? What makes a year new to you? Is it the additional numbers on the calendar, from 2023 to 2024? Is it the energy in the atmosphere? Is it you? Have you renewed your mind now that you've had a chance to live for 365 days on earth and have allowed yourself to learn,  heal and do better, so that the next 366 days of 2024 will yield the results you've been wanting to see?

What is really new for you in 2024?

What Are You Thankful For?

Often times we find ourselves complaining, wining and seeing life from "our cup is half full" perspective. We live in a bubble that allows us to think and believe we are short-changed. We do practice gratitude, but here and there. Every now and then. And perhaps when something major happens and we realized just how blessed we are.

However, this shouldn't be the case. We ought to be thankful more often. Thanksgiving should be on our daily routine. When we wake up we can be;

Thankful we are awake
Thankful we can eat
Thankful we can talk
Thankful we can write
Thankful we can drink
Thankful we can see
Thankful we can hear
Thankful we have in our lives (regardless of how they may be towards us sometimes)
Thankful for that job
Thankful for that spouse / fiancé(e)
Thankful for a roof over our heads
Thankful for the children we have and those we never got to have
Thankful for the rain
Thankful for the sun
Thankful for the clothes we get to wear
Thankful for God's favor, mercy and grace
Thankful in the midst of that trial and tribulation

We don't have to wait until Thanksgiving to remind ourselves of the things we ought to be thankful for. We are to be grateful in all things and for all things, period!

Take a look at your life and start practicing gratitude, you never know what's just around the corner!
