Beware Of Terror Attacks

Dear All,

There are various messages going on the social media with regards to terror alert. SURAKSHA TEAM had also issued a similar statement prior to the massacre in Kenya.

It is very important to be cautious as such groups have penetrated in various areas.

Its not only the police or security forces have to do all the work but its a responsibility of everyone to alert and report any suspicious activities.

For easy reporting; the points below are vital.

WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR

A. SUSPICIOUS PERSON WHO

- Are in unauthorized areas or appear lost.
- Dress inappropriate or overdressed for a given weather condition.
- Loitering or observing activities on facilities without authority.
- Wander around or outside a facility at a strategic area.
- Avoid eye contact, nervous and appear to be in hurry.
- Photography, take video or draw diagrams or map of restricted facilities.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access facilities.
- Disguise as selling merchandise.

B. SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE

The public needs to be cautious and report

- Vehicle parked in unauthorized locations.
- Out of place vans, trucks,  motorcycles, bicycles and cars
- Vehicles unattended for prolonged duration.
- Vehicles riding (looks overly heavy in either the front or the rear)
- Newly painted and/or emitting odour.
- Missing, improper or mismatched number plates.

C. SUSPICIOUS ITEMS
Unknown, unattended, out of place or unexpected deliveries like packages, backpacks, bags, boxes,  etc. Left;

- On or next to a seat in a vehicle.
- in a waiting area or washroom
- Roadsides
- Lecture halls
- Dining halls
- Places of worship
- Shopping malls, Restaurant,  Hotels, Hospital etc

PUBLIC RESPONSIBILITY

- Never attempt to distribute or move a suspicious object.
- Never attempt to handle a situation which you are not conversant with
- Leave the place immediately and report
- Incase of explosion,  Keen off the scene

WHEN REPORTING TAKE NOTE OF THE DETAILS:-

- Who and what you observed
- Location
- Time of occurrence
- Why it is suspicious

If there are concerns that anyone is involved in terrorism or planning to commit terrorism act please contact the nearest police station, security officials in your area etc.
