Till Death Do Us Part!!!

The

 mar·riageNoun/ˈmarij/

The formal union of a man and a woman, typically recognized by law, by which they become husband and wife.
It is said that marriages are made in heaven and celebrated on earth. The popular belief is true to many extent, because it is a special bond shared between two souls, who tie the wedding knot after promising to be companions for a lifetime.

It is the physical, mental and spiritual unison of two souls. It brings significant stability and substance to human relationships, which is otherwise incomplete.

It plays a crucial role in transferring the culture and civilization from one generation to the other, so that the human race is prospered. The institution of marriage is beneficial to the society as a whole, because it is the foundation of the family, which in turn is the fundamental building block of the society.

While the concept of marriage remains the same across the globe, the way of solemnizing it differs extensively. Different laws have been formulated to legalize the ceremony, which proves to be an important turning point in one's life. Apart from the laws of marriages, the rituals following during the ceremony are in total contrast to each other.

Something that is seen in the western countries cannot be witnessed in other nations in the developing world, primarily due to the contrast in the lifestyle and religious beliefs. One of the prime reasons for the paramount status of marriage is that it is the license for two individuals to live together in a society, without much limitations.

When a man and woman marry, they are no longer independent souls but become one. This means that the wife becomes answerable to her husband and the husband to his wife. They become interdependent on each other. Decisions that both make impact the other - therefore, in a godly marriage God requires each to view the other as an integral part of their partnership - one that is indivisible
"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

Ephesians 6:12 "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."

Our enemy is not our spouse it is the spiritual forces of evil commanded by Satan. Satan from the beginning, has had his hand in destroying marriages by causing conflict!

God never intended the husband's leadership role to be of one of cruel or abusive dominance over his wife, in fact, God has so designed this role that the husband has to be in submission to Jesus Christ, just as his wife is in submission to him, as it is written in 1 Corinthians 11:3,

The key to successful marriage is love, understanding, mutual respect, trust, commitment and togetherness.

1 Peter 3: 7

Don't be concerned about the outward beauty ... You should be known for the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God ... In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat her with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God's gift of new life. If you don't treat her as you should, your prayers will not be heard.

May God bless us all as we head into this Holy union.
