David Beckham lifts up his top to reveal his toned torso and his tattoo as he speaks to students at Peking university

The best lecture ever!

David Beckham suffered an embarrassing slip-upon Saturday so what better way to distract attention away from his blunder than by showing off his toned torso.
The 37-year-old footballer flashed his abdominal muscles to reveal a tattoo while talking to students at Peking University on Sunday.
David lifted up his shirt to show off the design, which is inked down the left hand side of his body.

The tattoo is Chinese characters and reads: 'Life and death are determined by fate, rank and riches decreed by Heaven.' David was asked by a student to show off his tattoo and he happily obliged, albeit with a cheeky smile on his face.
As well as showing off his body, David gave a short talk to students and he was invited to play a traditional Chinese instrument.

After strumming at the strings of the large apparatus David gave his young female teacher a warm embrace to say thank-you.
Showing off his torso is one way to detract attention away from his fall on Saturday.
The Paris St Germain star dropped to the ground in front of a group of young Chinese footballers as he attempted to demonstrate how to execute the perfect kick.

Looking as dapper as ever the superstar was dressed in a luxury grey suit and black shoes as he lined up to swing in a free-kick in front of starstruck players from Wuhan Zall club in the Hubei province.
But it all went horribly wrong when he lost his balance and ended up flat on his back.
As Becks ran up to curve a ball into the top corner of the goal he took a terrible fall and slipped up into the air before crashing into the ground.

Perhaps the midfielder should have worn a pair of his customised adidas football boots, rather than his smart shoes.
The former England captain has vowed to promote football in China over a long period of time, and make it one of the most popular leagues in the world.
'Thank you for having me in your wonderful city', wrote Beckham after being mobbed upon his arrival in Qingdao.

JOKE

George Bush has a heart attack, dies, and goes to hell where he's confronted by the devil. "I don't know what to do," says the devil. "You're on my list... but I don't have any room for you. You definitely have to stay here, so I'll tell you what I'm gonna to do. I've got three folks here who weren't quite as bad as you, I'll let one of them go but you have to take their place. I'll even let YOU decide (since you are, afterall, the DECIDER) who leaves.

George thought the deal sounded pretty good, so he agreed.

The devil opened a door to the first room, in it was Richard Nixon in a large pool of water. He kept diving in and surfacing empty-handed over and over and over. Such was his fate in hell.

"No!" George said. "I don't think so. I'm not a good swimmer and don't think I could do that all day long."

The devil led him to the next room, in it was Tony Blair with a sledgehammer and a room full of rocks. All he did was swing that hammer, time after time after time.

"No, I've got this problem with my shoulder. I would be in constant agony if all could do was break rocks all day!" commented George.

The devil opened a third door. In that room George saw Bill Clinton, lying on the floor with his arms over his head, and his legs spread in an eagle pose. Bent over him was Monica Lewinsky, doing what she does best.

George Bush looked at this in disbelief for a while and, finally, said "Yeah, I can handle this."

The devil smiled and said, "OK, Monica, you’re free to go!"

Who Sinned?

John 9:2-3

Who Sinned? It’s a natural question, isn’t it? But not all natural questions are right. Why am I struggling and others are having it in a silver plate is one of such questions.
When the disciples saw a man born blind, they assumed that someone must have sinned. So was it his parents or was it the man himself?
The disciples are half-right and mostly wrong in their thinking. They are half-right that someone sinned, but that “someone” was Adam, not the man or his parents. Not that they never sinned at all, but Jesus means that the man’s blindness is not a judgment on any particular sin they committed
This question leads us to a warning and to a reminder and then to a great encouragement.
The warning is, don’t presume to know what only God can know. Speculating about why someone gets cancer or why someone dies or why an earthquake hits here and not there puts us on dangerous ground. Those things are part of the “secret providence” of God.
The reminder is, because we live in a sin-cursed world, we will never be free of suffering and death until sin itself has been decisively removed by God. That day will come when Jesus returns, but until then we can expect to deal with suffering in one way or another as long as we live.
The encouragement is, you never know when or how the Lord himself may break into your life with transforming power. Sovereign grace means God can do it any time he chooses, and because it is grace we’re talking about, we don’t have to deserve it, and in fact we won’t deserve it, and that’s what grace is all about.
May the God of light, who sees  even when we don’t see help us to trust Him even when the way forward seems filled with darkness; and be grateful that God is using trials as a means of showing forth His grace.
May the Lord be glorified in us and through us today.

Continue In The Faith

 Acts 14:21–22; Romans 1:17
If your faith cannot make it through adversity, then, it isn't real faith. The faith that cannot be tested is the faith that cannot be trusted. Real faith gets stronger, not weaker, through hardship. It becomes more resilient; it doesn't fall apart.
Paul and Barnabas encourage the believers to continue in the faith, reminding us that we must suffer many hardships to enter the Kingdom of God.
We are being encouraged to continue in the faith, not in the feeling. Emotions come and go. There are times when you feel God's presence, and then there are times when you don't. So what do you do then? You press on, because "the just shall live by faith". Whether we feel God's presence today or we don't, that is okay. We are to press on, because this is a walk of faith.
Don't worry about emotions. Don't focus on emotions that fluctuate. Remember that God is with you, and one day you will join Him in glory.
When you are a young Christian, you want the blessing. But as you grow, you just want God. That is a mark of maturity. We need to continue in the faith when the skies are blue and also when they are dark; filled with clouds. We must press on when our health is good and also when it is not, because we know in that final day it will all be worth it.
